Privacy Policy — FridgeOne

Last updated: 13 September 2026

FridgeOne ("we", "us") helps you track food and reduce waste. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. By using FridgeOne you accept this policy. We may update it from time to time; continued use means you accept the changes.

What we collect

  • Account — your email and display name, whether you sign up with email/password, your Google account, or Apple Sign-In (on iOS) (for sign-in, password reset, and identifying you within a shared household).
  • App content — items you add (food names, quantities, expiry dates), your shopping list, waste logs, and household details you enter (name, city/PIN).
  • Photos — when you scan your fridge or a receipt, the image is sent for AI analysis and is not stored afterward.
  • Device data — a push-notification token (for expiry reminders) and basic technical information (e.g. device and network data) needed to run and secure the app.
  • Subscription status — if you buy FridgeOne Premium, your purchase and subscription status (handled via RevenueCat and your app store). We never receive or store your card details.

We do not collect sensitive data (race, religion, health, sexual preference, political or philosophical beliefs), and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics.

How we use it

Only to provide and secure the Service: your account, your pantry/shopping/waste data, AI recipes and scans, household sharing, expiry notifications, and subscription management. We do not sell your data.

Service providers

We use trusted providers who process data only on our behalf: Supabase for our database, authentication, storage, and functions (hosted in India, ap-south-1); Google (Gemini and YouTube APIs) for AI analysis of scan photos, AI recipe generation, and recipe-video suggestions (photos are processed for inference, not retained); Open Food Facts for barcode look-up (only the barcode is sent); Expo / EAS for push-notification delivery and app updates; RevenueCat for managing subscriptions (it receives an app-specific user ID and your purchase status — never your card details); and the Apple App Store and Google Play for billing (we never receive your card details).

AI features: to analyze a scan or generate a recipe, only the relevant photo or your pantry item names are sent to Google for processing — we do not send your email or other identifying details. We do not share your data with third parties beyond what is described here.

Household sharing

If you join a household, the items, lists, and waste data you add are shared with the other members of that household.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and personal data anytime via Settings → Delete Account, at https://fridgeone.com/delete-account, or by emailing [email protected]. Some shared household records may remain for the other members after you leave. Scanned photos are never stored.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your data and withdraw consent using the in-app tools or by contacting us. We aim to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where applicable, the GDPR.

Children

FridgeOne is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data, though no method is 100% secure.
